Stepping Stones

The centrepiece of the DAISES project is a multi-cohort, multi-wave longitudinal survey program which will see the Social Research Centre undertake approximately 150,000 interviews with persons on income support and users of Employment Services over the next three and a half years.The survey component of the research program will be known as Stepping Stones: Longitudinal Survey of Employment Services and Income Support.

 

Student Outcomes Survey

National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER), 2009 to 2011. The Student Outcomes Survey involves collecting information for the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector about the satisfaction, further study and employment outcomes of VET students.  In 2009 alone the SOS will require the dissemination of some 300,000 questionnaires to VET students using a range of dissemmination and collection modes.

 

Australian Apprentice and Employer Satisfaction with Australian Apprenticeship Centre Surveys

Department of Education, Science and Training, 2004 onwards.  A customer satisfaction survey amongst approximately 6,000 employers and Australian Apprentices regarding services received from Australian Apprenticeships Centres.

 

New Apprentices Long Term Outcomes Survey

Department of Education, Science and Training, 2004.  A survey of over 5,500 New Apprentices to assess employment and further education outcomes, 12 months after completing their traineeship / apprenticeship.

 

New Apprentices Short Term Outcomes Survey

Department of Education, Science and Training, 2004.  A survey of over 10,000 New Apprentices over 10 months to assess employment and further education outcomes, 3 months after completing their traineeship / apprenticeship.

 

On Track - Department of Education (ACT)

A post school destination survey of all Year 12 completers and early leavers from all Victorian schools 2008 to 2011.  This research also comprises a longitudinal survey to provide a comprehensive picture of what happens to a cohort of young people in the four years after they leave school.  The survey program involves undertaking a short telephone survey with approximately 40,000 school-leavers each year.

 

Our Lives Survey

University of Queensland, 2008.  The Social Futures and Life Pathways of Young People in Queensland: Waves 2 and 3 of a Longitudinal Study.  A longitudinal survey tracking a cohort of over 7,000 secondary school students from over 200 schools across Queensland using a mix of email, postal surveys and telephone follow up.

 

The Gatehouse Survey

Centre for Adolescent Health, Wave 5.  A survey amongst over 2,000 youth evaluating the effectiveness of a school-based intervention program designed to improve emotional well-being of young people, 2002.

 

Welfare to Work Evaluation

Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, 2006 to 2008.  Design, development of conduct of a five wave, multi-cohort longitudinal study of 20,000 recipients of income support payments to evaluate initiatives undertaken as part of the Welfare to Work Program.
