Frequently asked questions
The study is being conducted on behalf of a major financial institution. Information gathered is used as part of their social corporate responsibility charter to develop programs aimed at improving people’s knowledge and skills when it comes to financial matters. We can mention the survey sponsor upon completion but we can’t mention them at the beginning as it may influence your responses. I can also give you a little more information on the programs they develop at the end, if that’s of any interest.
2. What is the content of the survey?
We’re interested in Australian adults’ attitudes towards savings and investments, money management and consumer rights, so we can create an overall picture of where there may be shortfalls in terms of what people know. The information we collect is then used to develop programs aimed at various groups within the community, to address some of issues raised.
3. Why do you use the next birthday selection?
This is a standard method of selection we use to make sure we speak to a good cross section of the population, as it helps develop a better representation of the community in terms of age and gender.
4. How long does the survey take?
The time really does depend on the answers you give. Depending on your answers, it usually takes around 25 minutes. At any stage, if you’d like to stop, we can arrange a time to finish it off later.
5. Is my information confidential?
The survey data collection process is bound by strict privacy guidelines and no information you give will be attached to your name or would be able to identify you individually. Please see our privacy policy for more information.
