Cancer Institute of NSW, 2006 onwards. Several surveys of the NSW population to measure community knowledge, attitudes and behaviours in relation to breast screening, bowel screening and cervical screening.
The Headspace National Community Survey
Brain and Mind Institute, University of Sydney, 2008. A survey of 2,000 young persons 12 to 25, 1,000 parents of 12 to 25 year olds, and 1,000 other adults aged 26-65, looking at attitudes to mental health issues, access to information about mental health, and exposure to mental health problems.
The Mental Health Literacy Survey
Orygen Research Centre / University of Melbourne, 2006. A national survey of 3,700 young persons (aged 12 to 25 years) and 2,000 parents looking at awareness of and attitudes towards a range of mental health issues. A follow up study of young persons who were willing to be re-contacted is currently in-field (3,000 interviews).
The VicHealth Community Monitor
A total of 1,500 surveys across Victoria about community attitudes to alcohol are almost completed. This study is the first survey which is part of the VicHealth Community Monitor. There is another study scheduled for later this year on diet and nutrition. The Monitor is designed to collect community attitudes towards issues that the Victorian Community is currently facing, with results feeding into policy and decision making in each of these areas.
