Racism Research

University of New South Wales / University of Western Sydney, 2006 onwards.  Several surveys across various States and Territories as part of the Geography of Racism project to measure the prevalence of racist attitudes in Australia and differences in racism from place to place.

 

Social Cohesion Survey

Scanlon Foundation/ Australian Multicultural Foundation / Monash University - Institute for the Study of Global Movements, 2007.  This survey is the culmination of the multi-faceted Social Cohesion Research project funded by the Scanlon Foundation which aims to provide the first comprehensive measure of the condition of social cohesion in Australia.  The survey involved 2,000 surveys nationally and 300 in each of 5 specially selected Local Government Areas.

 

The Survey of Recent Migrants to Australia

Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs, 2005 and 2006.  A mixed methodology (mail and telephone) longitudinal survey with a mail-based establishment survey amongst 7,000 recent immigrants to Australia and a telephone follow up survey of over 6,000 respondents achieving a retention rate of 85%.
