Victorian Department of Department of Human Services, 2008. A survey of over 30,000 Victorians aged 18 years and comprising a minimum of 400 interviews in each of Victoria’s 79 Local Government Areas. The purpose of the survey is to inform and support local-level planning, implementation and evaluation of adult health services and programs throughout Victoria.

Department of Health and Ageing, 2006 to 2008. A high quality quarterly CATI survey of 2,500 adults across Australia, to inform policy and program design, using a modular questionnaire, with an ongoing program of qualitative research to address emerging issues and develop new questionnaire modules.
The McCaughey Centre for the Promotion of Mental Health and Community Wellbeing (University of Melbourne), 2007 – a survey of some 25,000 persons Across Victoria (300 persons in every LGA) to provide input into the Victorian Community Indicators Project.
Victorian Department of Human Services and the Office for Children, 2007. A high quality survey program involving interviews with primary care givers of children aged 0-12 years across Victorian. The purpose of the survey is to inform and support local level planning, implementation and evaluation of child health services and programs.
Cancer Council Victoria, 2005 and 2007. A survey program instituted by the Cancer Council Victoria to monitor attitudes to cancer and related issues across Victoria. Comprises 3,000 interviews with persons aged 18 years and over.
Cancer Institute of NSW, 2006 onwards. Several surveys of the NSW population to measure community knowledge, attitudes and behaviours in relation to breast screening, bowel screening and cervical screening.
Cancer Council Victoria, 2007 onwards. Telephone follow up of participants in a high specification longitudinal program examining the relationship between diet and health amongst Greek and Italian immigrants and the wider Victorian community.
Department of Health and Ageing, 2002 onwards. 15,000 screening interviews to establish the prevalence of smoking in Australia, and a further 2,900 interviews to evaluate the National Tobacco Campaign.
Department of Health and Ageing, 2004 onwards. A national series of pre and post campaign evaluation telephone surveys of over 1,800 parents of 8-17 year olds and 1,800 13-24 year olds regarding attitudes to and awareness of illicit drugs.
Turning Point Drug and Alcohol, 2008. A nation-wide survey which collects data on alcohol-related harm to others from 2,500 persons aged 18 and over
Orygen Research Centre / University of Melbourne, 2006. A national survey of 3,700 young persons (aged 12 to 25 years) and 2,000 parents looking at awareness of and attitudes towards a range of mental health issues. A follow up study of young persons who were willing to be re-contacted is currently in-field (3,000 interviews).
Brain and Mind Institute, University of Sydney, 2008. A survey of 2,000 young persons 12 to 25, 1,000 parents of 12 to 25 year olds, and 1,000 other adults aged 26-65, looking at attitudes to mental health issues, access to information about mental health, and exposure to mental health problems.
Centre for Behavioural Research in Cancer, 2004 onwards. The survey collects data relating to smoking and health behaviours of Victorian adults, as well as public opinions surrounding various health issues. Since 1998, the survey has been conducted via 16-minute telephone interviews of a representative sample of Victorians. Sample size 3,000 interviews.
Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing, 2004 and 2006. The surveys form part of an ongoing evaluation of the Influenza and Pneumococcal Vaccine Program for Older Australians, through which the Australian Government supplies vaccine free to Australians aged 65 and over. The survey involves 8,000 CATI surveys across Australia with 5,600 interviews with persons aged 65 years and over.
Centre for Study of Health and Society. A survey of some 1,100 employed persons to assess how job stress may be related to health, 2003.
Centre for Labour Market Research (University of WA). A survey of 1,750 persons to assess attitudes to and experience of work-life balance issues.
(Wave 5) - Centre for Adolescent Health. A survey amongst over 2,000 youth evaluating the effectiveness of a school-based intervention program designed to improve emotional well-being of young people, 2002.
Australian Institute of Family Studies, 2008 onwards. A longitudinal survey of 10,000 separated parents (along with a companion cross sectional survey of 5,000 respondents and a survey of children of separated families) to inform the evaluation of the family law reform package, which is being undertaken by AIFS on behalf of the Australian Government.

Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, 2006 to 2008. Design, development of conduct of a five wave, multi-cohort longitudinal study of 20,000 recipients of income support payments to evaluate initiatives undertaken as part of the Welfare to Work Program.
Australian National University, 2008 onwards. A longitudinal study of 5,000 separated parents to evaluate the impact of the new child support formula and related child support reforms.
2008 onwards. A post school destination survey of all Year 12 completers and early leavers from all Victorian schools 2008 to 2011. This research also comprises a longitudinal survey to provide a comprehensive picture of what happens to a cohort of young people in the four years after they leave school. The survey program involves undertaking a short telephone survey with approximately 40,000 school-leavers each year.
University of Queensland, 2008. The Social Futures and Life Pathways of Young People in Queensland: Waves 2 and 3 of a Longitudinal Study. A longitudinal survey tracking a cohort of over 7,000 secondary school students from over 200 schools across Queensland using a mix of email, postal surveys and telephone follow up.
Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development, 2008. A telephone survey of 3,000 businesses across metropolitan Melbourne to measure skills shortages and better understand the impact of, and responses to, labour supply issues.
ANZ Banking Group, 2008 – A high-profile survey of 3,500 respondents Australia-wide to monitor how levels of financial literacy have changed since the benchmark study of 2002-03.
University of Melbourne - School of Political Science, Criminology and Sociology, 2007. A survey of 4,000 persons aged 18 years and over across 8 Melbourne suburbs the aim of which is to increase understanding of the ties connecting citizens, community groups and government.
Australian Institute of Family Studies, 2006. A survey of 1,000 persons in receipt of Carer Allowance to document the physical, emotional, social and financial impact on families on caring for a relative with a disability.
VicHealth, 2006. Community attitudes research involving scoping, design, development and reporting of a multi-faceted survey relating to violence against women including a full qualitative development phase, 2,000 general community surveys and 800 surveys with persons of culturally and linguistically diverse and backgrounds.
Scanlon Foundation/ Australian Multicultural Foundation / Monash University - Institute for the Study of Global Movements, 2007. This survey is the culmination of the multi-faceted Social Cohesion Research project funded by the Scanlon Foundation which aims to provide the first comprehensive measure of the condition of social cohesion in Australia. The survey involved 2,000 surveys nationally and 300 in each of 5 specially selected Local Government Areas.
University of New South Wales / University of Western Sydney, 2006 onwards. Several surveys across various States and Territories as part of the Geography of Racism project to measure the prevalence of racist attitudes in Australia and differences in racism from place to place.
Department of Education, Science and Training, 2004 onwards. A customer satisfaction survey amongst approximately 6,000 employers and Australian Apprentices regarding services received from Australian Apprenticeships Centres.

Department of Family and Community Services, 2004. Evaluation involving a two wave longitudinal survey with 3,000 recipients of income support, 600 interviews with Personal Advisors and 45 depth interviews with special groups of income support recipients.
Australian Institute of Criminology / United Nations Organisation. 6,000 general community surveys and 1,000 interviews with persons of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds on crime victimization issues. Australian component of a large-scale international survey.
(POLIS) - Department of Family and Community Services, 2003. A survey amongst 1,500 parents on low income to identify income support exit pathways and evaluate education, labour market and ‘participation’ outcomes.
Department of Family and Community Services, 2002 to 2004. The design and conduct of a mutli-cohort, three wave longitudinal survey of some 6,500 Parenting Payment customers.
Premier’s Drug Prevention Council and the Victorian Department of Human Services, 2004. A survey amongst 6,000 16-24 year olds to provide a ‘snap shot’ of drug usage patterns and information on attitudes about various drug related issues and behaviours.
Australian Catholic University, 2005. A telephone survey of 1,600 persons aged 13 to 24 years to evaluate influences on, and attitudes towards, spirituality and religious beliefs.
Crime Prevention Victoria, 2004. Community attitudes research involving 12,500 Victorians aged 15 years and over measuring local perceptions of crime and safety.
Australian Transport Safety Bureau, 2003 onwards. An annual community attitudes survey of 1,500 persons aged 15 years and over regarding attitudes to road safety issues.
Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs, 2005 and 2006. A mixed methodology (mail and telephone) longitudinal survey with a mail-based establishment survey amongst 7,000 recent immigrants to Australia and a telephone follow up survey of over 6,000 respondents achieving a retention rate of 85%.
