Racism Research

University of New South Wales / University of Western Sydney, 2006 onwards.  Several surveys across various States and Territories as part of the Geography of Racism project to measure the prevalence of racist attitudes in Australia and differences in racism from place to place.

 

Social Cohesion Survey

Scanlon Foundation/ Australian Multicultural Foundation / Monash University - Institute for the Study of Global Movements, 2007.  This survey is the culmination of the multi-faceted Social Cohesion Research project funded by the Scanlon Foundation which aims to provide the first comprehensive measure of the condition of social cohesion in Australia.  The survey involved 2,000 surveys nationally and 300 in each of 5 specially selected Local Government Areas.

 

Social Connectivity Survey

University of Melbourne - School of Political Science, Criminology and Sociology, 2007.  A survey of 4,000 persons aged 18 years and over across 8 Melbourne suburbs the aim of which is to increase understanding of the ties connecting citizens, community groups and government.

 

Victorian Community Indicators Survey

The McCaughey Centre for the Promotion of Mental Health and Community Wellbeing (University of Melbourne), 2007 – a survey of some 25,000 persons Across Victoria (300 persons in every LGA) to provide input into the Victorian Community Indicators Project.
