The Social Research Centre (SRC) is growing and to maintain our reputation for high quality we need to constantly move with technology and contemporary research practices that are fit for purpose delivered by a customer-focused service model. In doing so, we also need to ensure that our continuous improvement model is supported with robust Quality and Risk Management Frameworks.

About the role

In this newly created permanent role, we are looking for an experienced Compliance, Risk and Improvement Officer to support a continuous improvement culture underpinned by compliant and effective Quality and Risk Management practices across the organisation. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and, in a supportive and collaborative environment, you will be given room to challenge the status quo and advocate for service improvements and modernisation across all business areas.

You’ll have fantastic support and guidance from the Executive Leadership Team and be supported to collaborate directly with all areas across our research and evaluation business.

This role is responsible for:

  • A range of core duties, including internal ISO quality system audits, gathering, analysing and translating operational data to support each team to identify and drive process improvements based on your analysis.
  • Providing executive support to the Chair, Audit & Risk Committee for all aspects of quality assurance and the conduct of internal audits.
  • Overseeing the ISO quality system, as it relates to project administration and research processes, including the conduct of internal audits.
  • Supporting the Chief Operating Officer for all aspects of business improvement, corporate performance reports and change management of business system transformation to modernise its systems, processes and technologies.
  • Providing support to the Executive Leadership Team to drive innovation and transformational change

About you

Our ideal candidate comes to us with a strong background in Quality, Audit and Risk including experience with ISO standards. You have strong analytical skills, including the ability to translate data into meaningful information to support business performance solutions. As a highly organised individual, you have great attention to detail and a collegiate, consultative approach. You like to identify where improvements can be made and drive process improvements based on your analysis.

This role is advertised as a full-time position, however we welcome part-time applications (fraction 0.8 or higher). Please indicate your preference on your application.

This position is based at our Melbourne CBD office, with hybrid work arrangements available. A suitable home workspace that meets OHS requirements and reliable internet connection are required to work from home.
